The Forty Seventh Problem Masonic t-shirt draws the proof every Fellow Craft is told to study, the forty seventh proposition of Euclid's first book. It states that the square on the hypotenuse of a right triangle equals the squares on the other two sides. Masonic tradition credits it to Pythagoras and reads it as a call to love the arts and sciences. In English lodges it is the figure on a Past Master's jewel.

The plate lays out the three squares on a 3, 4, 5 triangle, labels them with their areas, and adds a measuring rule, dividers and the Square and Compasses with the letter G, with the working shown the way a geometry copybook shows it.

The gold and blue enamel of the squares carry on every shirt colour, and the sepia notes read clearest on white.
